Living with a rheumatic disease often means learning to live with pain and fatigue. There's no magic formula, but there are habits and support networks that make a real difference.
Listen to your body and pace your energy
Learning to pace yourself — so-called "energy management" — helps avoid pain flare-ups. Alternate activity with rest, prioritise what matters, and don't push yourself too hard on difficult days.
Movement, adapted to you
Gentle, regular exercise, always adapted and supervised, is one of the best allies against rheumatic pain. Staying mobile protects your joints and lifts your mood.
You're not alone
The emotional impact is real and valid. Sharing your experience with others who understand it, and having psychological support when you need it, is part of the care. At the Foundation we offer support and a peer network.
